The app Model Me Going places is a great app that appropriately states the objectives of life skills. This app shows how to appropriately handle six different life situations. This app show the sequence of events when going somewhere, like the hairdresser, mall, doctor, playground, grocery store, or restaurant. This app is great for all kids because it shows different genders and races. Some of the places show girls, some show boys, and some show many children.
The app is also very accurate to the life skills situations that are shown. For example, in the Mall situation it explains what the child should do, stay close to his or her parents. It also tells the child what to expect at the mall, there are lots of things to see and people.
This app does not relate directly to school; however, the behaviors shown in this app can and should also be used when at school. An example of this is in the picture below with the phrase, "I wait my turn."
This app could help with a student's IEP if they need to work on how to behave in these different situations. A teacher could go over these situations and then ask questions to the student when they are finished.
